We will be making this lovely quilt in ONE DAY! (Approximate size 58"x72") This is a wonderful workshop that will teach you several time and money saving techniques that make quilting more fun! Learn the simple process of cutting, sewing and arranging your blocks lickety-split and get a beautiful large lap sized quilt top finished and ready for quilting! A pre-cut kit is included in this workshop that includes everything you need to sew the quilt and includes backing and batting as well as binding. You won't spend hours cutting your pieces out as that is already done for you. |

About the StudioYour workshop will take place in my studio that comfortably accommodates six (6) quilters. Tables, extension cords and comfy chairs make this workshop easy! Just bring yourself and your sewing machine.
I supply a cutting table with mats and cutters, rulers, accuquilt cutter, design board walls and all the hands on instructions you will need. You will take home a completed quilt top with everything you need to finish the quilt. Quilt your quilt here and get a discount! |

Your experience...From the minute you arrive and gather your cup of tea or coffee - you will soon realize that this workshop may be just the break you need! You will meet other quilters and we will take a minute to learn about each other and determine what you love about quilting and the issues you may face. (You will likely learn that some of the struggles you may have are the same as the other attendees!) Your workspace will be in my studio - where you will stay warm inside near a fireplace and look out floor to ceiling windows into a beautiful snow covered bush lot. What a view! You will have access to a cutting table with all the cutting tools you need and have a wool pressing area with a professional iron. There will also be 2 design walls you can work on to view your quilt before assembly. Once we get everyone settled in - I will illustrate the first two simple steps - and for the next 45 minutes you will have step one completed and move on to step 2. After you complete step 2 we will move to the design board to see how the blocks you have created fit together to create your masterpiece. But not until after a hot lunch and dessert. After lunch we will assemble our blocks and you will see how easy you can make all the corners meet each other perfectly. We will then add the borders which are pre-cut so this will save you lots of time. You will learn how to add your borders so that your quilt lies perfectly flat. Before you leave at the end of the day we will discuss finishing methods and I will demonstrate easy binding methods. What a great day! I look forward to seeing you here. |

Hi! I'm "Mandie the Quilter" and if you have had your quilt longarmed by me - you already know how much quilting excites me. Over the years I have mastered some great quilting skills, and figured out how to cut down on costs and eliminate waste.
Quilting is one of the most creative ways we can express ourselves. We choose colour and patterns and then apply all the energy we can muster to creating a thing of beauty - that also has great value both for the giver and the receiver. I have been sewing and worked on and off in the textile industry for over 4 decades - both part time and full time - and watched trends and instructional methods change over the years. I have picked the best ideas and put them into one teaching method that is sure to show you early success! This workshop takes what appears to be a complicated pattern and makes it fast and easy to complete. Once you are done you will see how easy it is to change colours and move blocks around to get an entirely different quilt. Come join me for this workshop - I promise you a lot of fun in an atmosphere where you can learn without stress! |
