This Training is for you!

My studio is set up for One-on-One Private Training on a longarm.  With two longarms in the studio you will have the option of learning free motion quilting includinghow to quilt your own quilt.  This one day training ( 6 hours) gives you the tools and skills you need to finish a baby or lap quilt that you bring with you.  The day begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 4:30 - with 30 minutes for your lunch.

​Training includes:

• Review of your quilt to ensure a perfect outcome
• Assess patterns for your quilt - what would look best?
• Marking the quilt and readying for quilting (if necessary)
• Basting
• Trimming
• 2 hours of practice if desired (fabrics and batting included)
• 4 hours quilting time including loading your quilt, quilting it and trimming it when it is done.  You can choose to free motion quilt or use a computerized design using the robotics available.
• You may also choose to continue practicing on a pre-printed fabric instead of completing a quilt top.

• Free Motion Training and ideas for designs

Equipment on hand

Training takes place on 12 foot frame using either a 16 inch Babylock Coronet or a 20 inch Handiquilter Amara.
Both machines have Robotic options

Also available in the studio

Bring your quilt tops and we can help you choose a backing and batting to suit the look you want on your finished quilt. You will have access to:

• 108 in wide backing at reduced pricing (more reasonable than using quilting cotton)
• Batting (100% wool, Hobbs 80/20, Cotton Wool Blend) at reduced pricing
• 30 Different thread colours (no charge for thread)
• Access to serger and regular sewing machines (no charge)

​Never used a longarm before?   Learn all the ins and outs of using a longarm.  Training includes:

• Learn the difference between free motion and computerized quilting. 
• Try out free motion quilting and practice Edge 2 Edge
• Quilt your quilt

Free Motion & Ruler Work

Break free from the computer and develop skills that you can use to custom quilt.   Training includes:

• Ruler work including piano keys and stitch in the ditch
• Free motion feather, swirls, circles, spirals
• Edge to edge free motion work
• Graffiti quilting
